Skincare routine

I know, you have been asking for this forever!
From my last skincare post you would have seen I’ve been a lover of natural skincare products. I also love to try new remedies!

With my birthday coming up it was great timing that YesTo sent me their latest range to try (YesTo Tomatoes).

I have naturally oily skin so I needed something to cater to that - this range (YesTo Tomatoes) was the perfect one.

Everyone’s skin is different - I’m only sharing tips which work for me, but it’s best to try out or seek professional advice.

1. The cleanser - If you don’t use a cleanser at the moment, I’d advise you quickly go to the shop and purchase one. It’s great at removing all that clogged dirt, especially make-up! I’d recommend this one or any miceller water because it’s very gentle on the skin and around the eyes.

2. Exfoliate - This is key! Especially if you have oily skin like me. I use a very gentle exfoliator about 4-5 times a week. Like I said above, everyone’s skin is different so you would need to cater to what is best for you.

3. The perfect mask - Now this depends on your skin type. But in my circumstance I have oily skin, so a mud mask works best. I use a mask once a week at the minimum. It helps lift any unwanted oils in the skin and tackles clogged pores.

4. The moisturiser - I personally like this to be very light and not too oily and this YesTo moisturiser is exactly that. A small amount goes a long way and I also use it under my make up. I sometimes use a separate night cream too, which is slightly thicker and heavier since it’s got the whole night to soak into the skin!

Below are the trusty products from YesTo’s new range that I have been using for the past month and they have done wonders to my skin. (See unfiltered image below)

You can purchase the products at Boots, Sainsbury’s, BeautyBay, LookFantastic and Feelunique.

I’d highly recommend them. Feel free to get in touch if you have any specific questions.

My Skincare Routine.

So excited to be back blogging and the first thing I wanted to talk about was skincare!!

Over the past year I have become obsessed with skincare products and looking after my skin. It has been exciting trying new products to see what my skin does and does not agree with. At the moment there are few products that I use religiously every day and so far so good. I am very pleased with my skin at the moment and have been getting many compliments which is why I just had to share my routine.

I honestly do not think I naturally have clear skin which is why I make sure to stay on top of my regime even when I'm very tired and just want to sleep (you know that feeling?). I think it is important to also say I drink plenty of water which is good for keeping skin hydrated.

All products I use.

From left-right
Clean and Clear Morning Energy : I have spoken about this in a previous post and have been using it over a year, cant get enough of it ( as you can tell I need to repurchase it). I use this every morning because it instantly wakes me up with the tingly feeling you get when applying it. My skin is very oily in the morning as well so this gives me a nice matte finish to start off my day!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish : You must know about this. THE best cleanser in the UK and I can fully back up that statement. Love this stuff. I try to use it morning and night but always in evening. It takes off every single bit of make up, while removing dead skin cells and gentle exfoliation with the help of the muslin cloth you must use with it.

Liz Earle Light Moisturiser : The thing I like about Liz Earle is that their products are 100% natural. I have not tried that many moisturisers but I really do like this one because it is really light and does not make me oily throughout the day.

Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate : I love the feeling of this on my skin. I use it as a night time aroma and gently massage it into my skin. Its good for balancing the oils in my skin and also keeping it smooth and plum. Another thing I really like about it is that it is not too heavy. It absorbs into the skin well.

Garnier Miceller Cleansing water : This is a new product which came out beginning of the year. I walked into Superdrug one day and it grabbed my attention, I just had to get it. Now I can say it has been one of my best skincare decisions! I use this morning and night, every day. It is very very gentle and does not strip your skin in any way.

Botanics Iconic Clay Mask : I was so glad to hear that Boots have their own Natural skincare line. I had read a few reviews about the clay mask and thought I'd give it a go because it sounded great for my skin type (oily). I do not think I can replace this mask because I love it too much. I try to use it about twice a week.

My skincare regime

Let's talk skincare ....

I'm going to be real with you, I never used to have a 'skincare regime' I always just washed my face and used any products that I came across. I have always loved buying skincare products though, when I heard about a product I would just buy it (not thinking about whether it was right for my skin type).
This was all until not so long ago when I started learning about my skin and reacting to certain products.
I have oily/combination skin which means I get oily around the T zone but normal on the rest of my face.
It was from then on, I made sure to look into the products that I use for example what they contain.

My regime is; face-wash, tone, moisturise and then about twice a week exfoliate. The products I use regularly are in the image below.

From Left to Right.

Liz Earle: Cleanse & Polish - I have been using this for a while now due to all the amazing reviews it has received and I must say it met my expectations. Used with a wet muslin cloth it removes all make up including my waterproof mascara and leaves your face feeling very smooth and radiant. I love that after this I could go without moisturising since it does not leave your skin dry.
Clean & Clear: Dual action moisturiser - This is another product I have not been using for too long. Clean & Clear was one of the first skincare products I bought and have been using since so when I saw this I thought let me give it a try. So far so good, it is oil free which is perfect for me. my skin feels smooth and moisturised without seeing the shine on my face.
Tip. Although the bottle looks small 2 pea size amounts go a long way!, I have had this for a couple months.
Clean & Clear: Morning Energy - I love this! I am not a morning person, when I get up feeling extremely tired it shows on my eyes and skin. BUT this was a saviour, after a face wash with this which has a tingly after feeling, it is almost like your face has woken up. Your skin immediately feels fresh and ready for the day! (the orangey smell is nice too).
No7: Beautiful Skin - To be honest I do not use this much, but I do not break out from it. My skin feels a lot smoother and clearer once I have used it.
Garnier: Toner - I heard good things about this product on other blogs and YouTube so I thought I would give it a try. I have been using it for a couple months and it will be really hard for me to switch to any other toner because I love the way my face feels after i have used it and the smell makes it even better.

The picture above are the products that I would say I use on a daily basis.

All skin types are different, what works for me might not work for you. I just thought I would share my most used skincare products. Just want to end the post by saying skincare is really important, our skin is in contact with a lot of bacteria so it is crucial to use the right products for your skin type and look after it.

Disclaimer: I am not a skin-care expert, these are my personal opinions.

Thank you for reading xoxo

Drugstore beauty faves

Hey guys, I thought I would share one of my recent obsessions with you and that is beauty products!! If you know me you would know I was hardly into beauty, it was more the fashion side of things. Well now this has taken a huge turn, I love looking at beauty products and trying new cosmetics and brands I find it exciting.

Since buying beauty products is something I have not been doing for long I have been learning about new ways to do my make up. When I have nothing to do I feel like a little kid in the mirror playing with make-up and learning things. Trust me guys this works, if you want to better your beauty skills just watch some tutorials and try them out yourself (I do this).

Most of my beauty products are from drugstores because I honestly feel like there is not a huge difference compared to the high end stores e.g mac. This could change as I get more into it, but for now I love my drugstore beauty bits they work for me which is why I would like to show you my faves at the moment. Just comment on the post if you want further information.

500 Caramel Cupcake// 622 oh boy you're so fine!!// Barry M 334 Teal// 260 Funetime fuschia// 315 Ready, aim, paint!

Mua, Shade 13// Barry M, Shade 150// Rimmel Kate, Shade 110// Sleek, Mystic Shade 783

1.  I just bought the red MUA lipstick last week, my friend recommended it to me and I must say it is one my favourite reds that I have. It is not too matted and has a slight glossy look.

      2.   You gotta have a nude that you use every now and then and this Barry M one I love! It has a touch of pink/purple and is not too light for my complexion.

      3.  I bought this Rimmel Kate lipstick because I wanted a red that was not too red but had a touch of pink when I saw this shade I immediately knew it was the one I was looking for, it is nice for the summer since it is bright.

      4.   This sleek colour is my ultimate favourite lipstick shade! I honestly do not think I will find a lipstick colour that I love as much as this. I wear this lipstick all the time. I always have a bit of colour on my lips unless I'm at home and this is the colour that is in constant use! I even wish my lips were permanently this colour (yes, I am that obsessed) I use this colour during the day but I make it light with some Vaseline but when I'm going out in the evening I make it bold/stand out.

Rimmel Apocalips
Galaxy301// Celestial101

I have no eye lashes what so ever, it's really sad because I love eye make up and making my eyes stand out. I do wear eyelashes but not a lot. I am sure I'm not the only one to say that they can be uncomfortable. This is why I was on a mission to find mascara that was not too expensive that could make my little eyelashes look fuller. That is when I found this!! It has a brush applicator, look at the picture below to see the change only on my left eye.
I hope you enjoyed this post. I do have more beauty products that I love but I thought I would show you the ones that are more relevant for the season. Thanks for taking time to look at my blog :) xxx
